In gamespot's latest preview, they said that owners of phophcies and factions will be able to each go back and unlock one hero (if they have nightfall). While I am glad Proph and Fact owners will get some heroes, isn't one per campaign a bit stingy? I would say there should be 6 in proph and 8 in factions (one for each class).

Anet, after the release of Nightfall and everything has calmed down a bit, could you guys go in and add more heroes to the original two campaigns?

Those in Tyria and Cantha are in addition to the normal 12. Arent 14 heroes enough for you? If they did it by your numbers there would be 26. Thats way too many.

Yeah, those are bonus heroes added to all the Elonian heroes. I've seen heroes of every professin except a ritualist...

Also keep in mind when it talks about going back to get heroes in Tyria and Cantha; you can only get them if you own Nightfall. If you don't buy Nightfall you get 0 heroes. Since all your heroes can follow you to every continent, there's no reason to add more to the old campaigns.

I don't care too much about the number of heroes, I just want 2 monks, and one hero per class. Anyway, I have Factions and I really want Assassin AND Ritualist heroes. I am not interested in play a PvE Ritualist, so, if I can use a Ritualist hero, that will be similar to play a pve myself.

I personnally think that Heroes should be kept Unique to Nightfall anyway.

Its the games unique selling point.

Like Factions has Alliance battles and faction points and such.

Its nice their going to add a Heroe to each older campaign, but dont get greedy.

I think your the one being a bit unreasonable.

Before the Gamespot article 2 days ago, we never knew of Prophecies and Factions heroes, and no one ever said nor complained then, so why complain now that we do have something?

I did expect it from some people though.

We wouldn't need an extra set of all classes either- Nightfall already has 2 of most professions anyways.

Where does it say that, exactly? the gamespot preview says you can have those extra heroes as a bonus if you have the previous versions in addition to nightfall, but it doesn't say you need nightfall to have just the two bonus heroes. In fact, it could be sound marketing to allow players with other chapters to have just one so as to entice them to buy NF and have the full suite.

Well, there's one pretty big reason... if there's enough heroes in each campaign, you don't have to take every one of your chars to Elona to have acess to a full hero suite. Then again, while very practical for players, it's up to Anet's marketing division whether this would be good for business.

26 heroes is not too many. As I see it, at tweleve, you are stuck with the same 2-3 for the classes you've chosen to take along. One per class per campaign would give you an option of:

3 warriors/els/monks/rangers/necros/messes
2 rits/sassis
1 der/para

In other words, one per campaign per class is good for variety's sake. As for the bonus characters, I think that unless the 2 bonus heroes are considered teasers, I think that you shouldn't get any heroes at all unless you have nightfall. However if you do have it, you get all of them I listed above. Now if Anet was really generous, for factions, they'd give us a group of heroes for luxons and another for kurziks.

Look at the difference in henchies between proph and factions. In the first game, you pretty much had the same group through out most of the game with the main heroes becoming an option at the end. In factions though you had a ton of henchies depending on where you were.

No reason to facilitate people being lazy by adding a bunch of heroes to places people already have access to. It was your choice to make ten; now it's your choice of how to manage your time between them.

I have no idea what this statement is supposed to mean. It does say you need Nightfall in addition to the previous campaigns, if you only have Prophecies you don't get a hero.

Yea, well, I see your point, what I said is that it would be convenient to have more heroes in tyria and cantha. If Anet decides to add heroes to every campaign after NF too, it would actually make things a bit more fair, too.

No, no. It says that if you own prophs in addition to NF, you get a bonus hero, that's it. It DOES NOT say that you don't get that hero if you have only Prophs. It might or might not be the case, saying either way will apply is pure speculation.

Aanyway. I'm glad we will have those heroes. And I do hope there'll be a rit hero, too.
